was on the market for a new set of gear,
and through a bit of research and word of
mouth I ended up talking to the folks at
Duke's. After asking about all the new
lines of gear, I decided to go with a
custom set of Koho 580 gear. The help and
service I received from the staff at
Duke's, Zack and Paul in particular, was
outstanding from the day I ordered up to
this very day. During the waiting period
my emails were replied to promptly when I
asked about the status of my order. When
I received my equipment it was precisely
what I had wanted. Paul even went as far
as to modify my catch gloves with his
Koho approved T-trap modification, and to
send me pictures via email so I could see
them before they were sent off to me. I
am very pleased with my choice of going
through Duke's to purchase my gear. In
fact I plan on making all my major
equipment purchases from Duke's in the
future.

I did extensive research, checking out the stores closest to me, checking prices on the internet, and checking the goalie bulletin boards for people's comments.I have had previous experience buying goalie equipment as my 9 year old son David is a goalie. I made the decision to go to Duke's. When I got there, I was immediately impressed by the amount of gear they carry. Every nook and cranny in that store is jammed packed! I met Craig, who basically spent his whole day with me, letting me try on as much stuff as I wanted, until it "felt right".He would usually let me make my own decision, then give me his opinion. He was always right on...whatever he recommended did indeed feel right and fit right. I am very happy with the service I received from Will, as well as the advice I was given by Paul. As a bonus, the prices at Duke's were better than I expected, quite a bit lower than I was able to get anywhere else. I have also had some contact with Zack , mostly by email, in tracking the equipment I ordered. He replies promptly and courteously, and is very helpful.
I can highly recommend Duke's. I know that for my son and I it is the only place we will need to go for our future needs.

some new leg pads, he had told me to
contact Zack. Since I live in Michigan, I
wasn't able to just go to the store so I
gave them a call. After a phone
conversation and a couple of emails, I
was confident that Dukes was where I
wanted to purchase my gear from. With
Zacks help, I ordered a set of McKenney
851 leg pads in custom colors.

I decided to go "off the shelf" since,
quite frankly, I was sick of putting up
with waits. I have Waited 26 weeks, 18
weeks, 27 weeks, and 20 weeks for various
custom orders to be filled by some of the
smaller companies. While I prefer custom
equipment over off the shelf, I could not
stomach the possibility yet another wait.
Dukes had earned a terrific reputation
themselves as a hockey outlet. PB gave me
some excellent, honest advice about my
selections. He didn't pressure me into
buying one or the other, and gave me the
positives and negatives of my choices. In
the end, we decided the Velo would best
suit my needs.
Then we moved on to Zack and Dukes. Zack sent me a custom color sheet from Vaughn, and I filled it out with a few specific instructions on how I wanted the colors arranged. It was difficult to fill out the form because Vaughn has a color sheet for regular handed blockers, but nothing for a full right, and I was very worried that Vaughn would misinterpret my instructions. Zack and PB both double/triple checked with the Vaughn custom dept. to make sure everyone understood what I wanted.
Grade for PB and Zack's customer service: A+ If I ever order off the shelf gear again, I will go with Dukes. Their reputation for customer service is well-deserved.

ordered these in April 2002 from Dukes.
Zack was great, I had alot of questions
because this was the first set of pads I
had ever custom ordered. I must have
emailed him over 50 times before and
durring the process and everytime I got a
quality answer. Another person at Dukes
that made the ordering process easy was
our own board member Paul. I started
talking to Paul about a month before I
order, he told what he thought of the
580s and other pads I was interested in.
With my quote the pads were going to come
that week I need them but Zack tried as
hard as he could and got them to me a
week early. I give Dukes A +++ customer
services and I recommend anyone that is
going custom or even normal gear to order
at Dukes.

blocker and a koho 590 catcher. I am
plased to say that the service that I jad
at Duke's was absoulutely stunning. Zack
helped me out with all my needs and my
tough decision between the koho 580s and
the vaughn velocitys, but he mae sure i
walked out of the store with a great set
of equipment and and an awesome price
(which pleases my parents very much so).
After having such a great experience at Duke's my father and I are more than happy to make te hour and half drive to get all of mine and my brothers hockey needs. My
son and I learned about Dukes seven
years ago and we have brought all his
goaltending equipment there every since.
I have checked out other stores in the
Greater Toronto area that carry
goalie equipment and have never found
better prices. Not only are the prices
the best anywhere, the service is
outstanding. They always take the time to
make sure Brad has the perfect fit and he
has seen all the different equipment
available. I also have to mention the
fact that when something does go wrong,
they go to extremes to correct the
situation. A few years ago we purchased a
pair of Velocity pads and the blue colour
ran into the white, no fault of Dukes but
I returned to them and they jumped into
action, they offered a pair of pads for
Brad to use while his were being
repaired, and they had him a new pair
from Vaughn within two weeks. We would
never think of getting our equipment
anywhere else. I have also started buying
all the equipment for my younger son he
is a defenseman, and Dukes prices on
player equipment is also the best.

After our two
sons (ages 8 and 12) finished their week
of goalie training at the Stars Camp in
Guelph last summer, we vacationed in
Toronto for a few days. Well, if you call
shopping for goalie equipment a vacation.
There's not much to look at or try out at the retailers available in New Jersey for goalies of any age. So after doing the rounds in the Toronto area, we settled on the folks at Duke's. Zack was superb with both boys, taking the time to fit all the gear and explain why some manufacturers designs would work and others wouldn't work because of their size. We were upgrading from some basic starter gear for both to the next level in quality...and price. In the end we decided to custom order gear for both boys. Our experience was painless.
At this point there is absolutely no thought of looking elsewhere for future purchases. It's easier for us to work with Zack long distance than with one of our local stores.
BTW - Both boys won first time out in their new gear; the little guy had a shutout!

I was trying on a pair of Brian's Demons when all of a sudden Scott appeared out of no where, and practically with out looking at me told me the exact pair of pads I needed, just by looking at me, he already had seemed to know, what type of goalie I was and what size I needed, and the perfect match for me, which ended up being Eagle PMW1's! I wanted to send a picture sooner, but better late than never I guess. Anyways, just like to send a thanks out, especially to Zack. You were probably freaked out at first when you saw then sketch I brought in. but after all that time getting the colours right on the computer, it was finalized. The yellow, orange, black, and purple placed haphazardly over the pads and gloves. I can’t say how much I appreciate this. I attached a pic of one of my games. Thought I would tape the stick add that last touch just for the picture for all you guys over there. Anyways, Zack, when I get my bank account up above $0, then I’m hoping to get a custom painted mask. One of these days in the near future… hopefully. I’ll let you know how long it’ll be before flipping burgers gets me there. In the meantime, THANKS!!!!

service, we live in Cape Bretom and buy
alot of gear on line, since we started
purchasing from Dukes the service has
been second to none. My son is into his
second set from Dukes his newest set
One95 Nike/Bauer are awesome and the best
part is there was a little problem with
the pads( from the factory) one call to
Scott the problem was resolved in one
day, we are just waiting for the new
replacement pads to arrive, now thats
service!!!! I would and do recommend
Dukes to alot of goalie parents I talk
to, face it goalie gear is too expensive
to be sold something that doesn't fit or
will fall apart no need to worry about it
with these guys their the real deal! Here

I cant thank you enough for the great work on my custom RBK Premier II
pads i got from you in march. They look so good and everyone loves
them. Oh and they work so much better than my old itechs. I cant
believe the difference between the new stuff. This picture is from
when we played san jose pd/fire in the shark tank in san jose . We
played a charity game right after when the sharks vs oilers played on
march 16th. Hope you enjoy the picture as much as i enjoy the pads.
